My wife hates it when I drag her out to go get industrial supplies. She frowns a lot whenever I announce that I’m going and I know that she is being sweet when she comes along with me but I know she’s never really thrilled. I needed to get some paint and some other supplies to redo our attic and turn it into an office for HER home business. We also got some great lighting I even saw her choosing out some other stuff. I think she was happy.

My sister has been dating the same guy for almost 7 years now. They are talking about getting married. He has not officially proposed to her yet though. They have been shopping for rings for both of them. She has not yet decided on a ring that she wants yet and neither has he. They have went to several jewelry stores looking at diamond rings, but there is just so many to choose from. Hopefully, they will both decide on one for both of them that they will finally choose the ones they want.

Today while I was in the city I picked up some bamboo shades for our spare bedroom. My girlfriend is always trying to do this or that to make the spare bedroom look better, even though we hardly ever have anyone over, especially to spend the night. At least she puts most of her focus into that one room rather than always trying to fix up the whole house. But, I do have to say, bamboo shades really made the room look alot different, in a good way.

My girlfriend loves candles. Every time I turn around she is getting some new candles in the mail that she found for a good price online. Yesterday UPS delivered some new Votive candle holders and candles that she found on QuickCandles.com. She got a set of 144 candles, yes, I said 144, one hundred and forty four candles, for $25.00. I like having some extra candles for when the power goes out during really bad storms and that sort of thing, so I was proud of her for finding such a nice deal on bulk candles. I might have to place my own order for another couple sets.

Last month, I was given notice by my boss that I was being transferred to a different state. I have a family, so this was a very major event for us. My wife had to change jobs, my children were having to change schools and we would also be moving away from our families. Even though I would have my job, my wife was worried about finding one that suited her and paid as much as she makes now. Luckily, we had 3 months before the transfer took place. We, first found a home to live in and took care of all that paperwork. The next step was helping my wife find a job. We were moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Neither of us had ever been there before. In searching for jobs in Atlanta, we were shocked to how many there were available. It only took my wife three and a half weeks and she landed a job that she loves. It was very much like the one she currently had, and also paid more than she was making before. We never realized how many jobs in Atlanta that there really were. We were amazed and happy at what we found. Our children also made lots of friends with our neighbors and loved their schools.

I’m thinking about taking a nice little vacation this summer with my girlfriend. We’ve been budgeting and planning for a nice vacation for about 2 years now and I really think it’s time we took the plunge and cashed it in. We’ve been talking about going to either Las Vegas or Florida. I really enjoy going to Las Vegas, the atmosphere and everything is just very nice. I also like being outside and around at night, so Las Vegas is the perfect city for me. On the other hand, I’ve never been to Florida and it looks like it could be fun to just hang out on the beach and sip Margaritas for a couple of weeks. We’ll see.

Many people today are doing things differently after getting married. One of the things has to do with their finances. They each open up their own separate savings accounts. This is much different than how it used to be. When I get married, we are going to open up one savings account with both our names on it. To me, making everything ours is part of being married, instead of each having their own money and assets. A savings account is very important to have whether you are married or not. You never know when you may need some extra money and is also good to have for the future.

I purchased a nice little gold anklet for my girlfriend yesterday. I’ve had a pretty good month at work and I really wanted to do something nice for her. She has just about every necklace you can imagine, so I wanted to get her something different. She was very surprised and I think she actually likes it. We’ll see if she wears it or not.
