It’s hard to be without a cell phone. My husband had given me a cheap prepaid phone to curb my spending habits because I talk so much on the phone. Eventually I lost the phone and decided to wait a while before replacing it. That was a big mistake because I had a recent appointment downtown and had to walk a long distance to use a phone at a corporate office. There were no payphones in sight, which was odd to me. There should be one on almost every street corner. I heard Virgin Mobile has a sale on one of their phones for $20.00. That price is right up my alley.
It Does Not Pay To Work For Free
Ever so often in my writing profession, I offer up a freebie. I hooked up with a website recently and started writing for them and needless to say, they were really impressed. It took one story subject to mess it all up for me. In the first place he was acting the “diva” role on me and I decided I wasn’t having it. The editor so caught up by his fame and whom he knew allowed him to walk all over me. Then she had the nerve to give me another assignment complete with instructions as if I was a novice. She’s still waiting for her assignment.
The Middle Finger Doctor
I’m seriously thinking about changing my baby’s pediatrician. It seems like I’m paying him money to hear him say the same thing at every appointment.
And then there is his wretched middle finger, which he circles with a pen to indicate the dosage of ointment I’m supposed to put on the baby’s skin.
I’m tired of the middle finger abuse. I’m taking the kid to another doctor.
Baby Obesity Is Not Acceptable
You’ve seen the baby obesity stories on the Maury Povich Show. We all have, but I never thought I’d see one in the flesh until I saw my new neighbor’s kid. The child is all of eight months and she’s heavier and fatter than my two-year-old is. What are they feeding her and why are they allowing this baby to get so fat? And then I look at her mom and then her grand-mom and I see a long history of obesity of their weight. It’s good to feed your kids what they may want sometimes, but in moderation and only what their little stomachs can handle. The parent and grandparent can eat to their hearts content and gain weight if they want to, but please leave the baby out of your food binges.
Transportation Sucks
There is a reason why I’m always broke. I totally refuse to take public transportation. It is slow, noisy and not to mention unsafe. It’s times like these when I wish I had my license and a car would be nice as well. Since I can’t always afford to take a cab when I get out, I repeatedly short-change myself by having to settle with the grocery store two streets away from where I life where variety isn’t a word in their book. I miss going to Price Chopper and Stop and Shop with my husband and purchasing shrimps and flour tortillas to make mini pizzas with. And it makes no sense trying to ask my girls to take me around because everybody is busy doing their own thing. Until my husband returns from his job, I have to work out a strategy. And I hope it does not involve taking a bus.
Charity Begins At Home
I have a problem with “boys” who call themselves men and who have no problem with forsaking their own “seeds” to go live with women who’ve got their own kids. Whatever happen to the old adage “charity begins at home?” Why, I’d be disgusted if a man were to pursue me and neglect his kids to come live with me and mine. It is unfair and the sad reality is that the other woman does think that anything is wrong with this. After all, she’s getting the financial and physical help that she seeks. Why complain? How can a man not want to stick around and raise his kids the right way, to teach them morals, be there at their graduation ceremony and share their growth experience with them? How can this man neglect all those key moments for spending time with his step kids are totally beyond me. Although not acceptable but if the man’s kids are all grown, it may not be so bad. But it is a problem when his own kids are babies compared to the ones he has left the home to raise. This is a new level of irresponsibility and disrespect because if a man cannot have compassion for his own seed, his step kids won’t be that far behind. Just some food for thought.
Back To Basics
I love pancakes but I hate purchasing the mix and going through the long process of mixing, pouring and flipping them to perfection.
Alas, I’m at the grocery store and I decided to pick up some pre-made pancakes. Now I had bought some of these before at Walmart and they were really good. But this time I bought a cheap brand at one of the corner store and let’s just say that its still sitting up in the fridge ready to get thrown out. It smelt fresh like raw eggs and whether you tried to toast it or microwave it, it had a rubbery feel to it. So I’ve gone back to basics. It was only yesterday that my landlord told me that the mixer that we both had was good for mixing pancakes. No more pre-made pancakes for me.
Women Should Respect Themselves
We all know that the ratio for one woman to a man is very slim, especially with half the men either married, in jail or gay. But that does not give women the right to act all desperate for the first man that come their way. Summertime is the season for “hooking up” with someone and my girlfriend has already hooked up with a man that I don‘t think is right for her.
He sleeps around with other women and she is aware of it, but maybe she is so blinded by love or just prefers to have someone to call her man whether he’s with her exclusively or not. My girl is working overtime to keep this man, and has even bought him clothing and gives him money of which he spends on other women. Pity, women are so quick on blaming men when they eventually get their heart broken, but my view on this is that women are their own worst enemy. Money could afford us a lot of luxuries in life, but love isn’t one of them.
