Auto insurance is truly a good coverage to have. You never quite appreciate this type of insurance until you get into an accident and it isn’t your fault. Last week I crashed my Ford Expedition and an Eddie Bauer edition to boot while driving in the nasty New England weather. And as much as I was upset about how the accident happened, having insurance definitely took the load off my shoulders. What’s even sweeter is that my insurance company has opted to pay half of the car rental fees until my ride gets fixed.
Tires Plus Lost A Customer
I purchased a set of tires for my truck from Tires Plus last year. They were around 70,000 mile tires and I have put close to 30,000 miles on them. The tires are starting to get dry rot on them and I’m going to need to get them replaced as soon as possible. I called Tires Plus and they said I could come in and they would have a look at them, and replace them at a pro-rated discount. I asked how long it would take and they said that if I came in early that they could get me in within about 10 minutes or so. I went in at about 9:30 in the morning. I sat there for over 2 hours and they still didnt have my car pulled into the bay. They only had 2 people working and they told me that the other workers don’t come in until noon. This really made me agree because they told me on the phone that they would get me right in and fix me up. Tires Plus has lost a customer.
Burn Notice To Return In Summer 2008
The television show Burn Notice on the USA cable network has ended it’s first season. According to the USA network, it will not be returning until Summer of 2008. That seems like quite a break. The season didn’t have that many episodes to begin with, so it seems like they could bring it back after a couple of months. I can’t wait for the show to return, it quickly became one of my favorite shows after seeing only a couple of episodes.
Expensive Isn’t Always Better
I had a lady give me some ezema cream for my daughter since her daughter has it also. She gave me a sample of a cream that cost her $100 just to see if it would work on my baby. After using it for a few days, I realized that it was not working. Actually my baby started to itch more than ever. So while doing some shopping recently, I popped in to a little corner store and asked what they had for the baby’s skin. The girl showed me to a product that cost $8.00 and I bought it immediately and rushed home to try it. By the next day the baby’s skin had started to heal, and she did not itch once. As of this writing her ezema has disappeared. And I’ve only been using the product for a few days really. I can’t believe I was prepared to spend $100 on my child’s skin for the other cream. Goes to show that expensive product price has nothing to do with its quality.
On A Job Search
I have been on a job search lately trying to find a way to make some supplemental income. I’m having a difficult time finding any kind of web work online, such as web design, graphics, that sort of thing. It seems like when I’m not looking for the work, I get overloaded with jobs and can barely get them all done on schedule, but when I’m actually in need of some extra money I can’t find anything.
Comcast or ATT
I currently have the Comcast high speed Internet service that I pay close to fifty dollars per month for. This is pretty expensive so when ATT asked me to bundle up and make the switch, I decided to go for it. And at a price of $14.95 for ATT Internet, why not. So I called ATT to try to get Internet service with them only to realize that I didn’t quality. Apparently my Windows M.E. system was too old for their service. I was upset. I so wanted to save some money.
She Plays With Cars
I don’t know if it is a passing fad or whatever it is, but my girl toddler has a fixation with cars. I got her a doll but she had it sitting under her bed and refused to play with it. So I got her some cars and she likes playing with them. She washes the car and then sit on the floor with it and drives it all over the place. I keep thinking “what’s with the fascination over these cars?” She probably imagines that she’s driving one. Who knows?
No-Cell Phone Woes
It’s hard to be without a cell phone. My husband had given me a cheap prepaid phone to curb my spending habits because I talk so much on the phone. Eventually I lost the phone and decided to wait a while before replacing it. That was a big mistake because I had a recent appointment downtown and had to walk a long distance to use a phone at a corporate office. There were no payphones in sight, which was odd to me. There should be one on almost every street corner. I heard Virgin Mobile has a sale on one of their phones for $20.00. That price is right up my alley.
