I met my husband online at a social website and things turned out pretty ok for us. But if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t advise anyone to date someone that they meet online. The Internet is an appropriate place for one to create a facade and stay behind that as long as they want to. They sugarcoat their words and tell you what you want to hear and by the time you meet them in person, you realize that you didn’t know them at all. There are a lot of things that I did not know about my husband that were revealed after we started dating and committing our lives to each other. Things that if I had known before, I would not have been with him today. But experience as they say is a good teacher. One just got to make careful choices when it comes to their dates and whom they want to spend the rest of their lives with. This can be achieved by asking a lot of questions and conducting background checks on the person. There are a lot of judicial court websites that would give you criminal or civil information on a person for free. Lastly, let intuition be your guide. Most of the times it is what saves most from getting deeper into trouble.
